How to Write a CV That Gets Interviews
Published 24 October 2026 by Adawat
Recruiters often give a CV only a short first look, so a clear, well-organised document matters more than fancy design.
What to include
- Your name, job title and contact details at the top.
- A short summary of two or three lines about what you do and what you offer.
- Work experience, newest first: job title, employer, dates and bullet points.
- Education and training.
- Skills that match the job advert, such as software, languages and certificates.
Write strong bullet points
Start with an action verb and add a result where you can. "Processed 200 supplier invoices a month with no errors" is stronger than "Responsible for invoices". Only include facts you can back up.
Keep it clean
- Use one simple font and consistent spacing. One to two pages is enough.
- Use words from the job advert where they honestly describe you, because many employers scan CVs with software.
- Check spelling and send the file as a PDF so the layout does not change.
Build yours now
The CV and resume builder turns your details into a clean one-column PDF. Start a line with # for a job heading and with a dash for a bullet. It currently supports English text.
